Hollywood plans turkey tale movie - The story of a woman who was stranded by snow for a month after she popped out to buy a Christmas turkey

What strikes me the most (after being flabbergasted that due to the weather she couldnt return home for a month, ofcourse) is that they actually are running a business in the area- a cafe!! Talk about optimism! Ok, i know, they probably are the only eatery in the area so they are providing a necessary service, but to whom? There aren't any customers!!

Yes, i'm a jaded city-girl...

A day in their shoes..

Fascinating. This article has 2 stories in 1: the tunnel being built under the Bosphorous and the ancient civilization uncovered.
The history part, while pretty wow, is not what amazed me. Its the building of the tunnel that did. Its such a massive and dangerous undertaking that they actually have an emergency bunker on the bottom of the sea that is stocked with emergency supplies up to 10 days in case of a flood. Imagine walking a day in the shoes of one of the tunnel construction workers. Fascinating.
